Helen Grus, a detective with the Ottawa Police Service, worked in a unit dealing with sexual assault and child abuse. In early 2022, she became aware of an unusual increase in sudden, unexplained infant deaths. Instead of having her concerns thoroughly investigated, she was suspended, subjected to disciplinary proceedings, and drawn into a long legal battle. A key point in this interview is that Helen Grus did not claim to know the final cause of those deaths. On the contrary, her basic question was why these cases were not fully investigated — with autopsies, toxicology, pathology, and all relevant medical information, including the COVID-19 vaccination status of the parents. With lawyer Bath-Shéba van den Berg, we discuss the legal side of the case, the disciplinary process, the role of police institutions, allegations of pressure against Helen Grus, the public interest, trust in institutions, and the broader issue of the rule of law after the pandemic. We also discuss the Pfizer documents, the question of mRNA vaccine safety for pregnant and breastfeeding women, SIDS, incomplete investigations, the Canadian Freedom Convoy, the freezing of bank accounts, and the growing fear many citizens now feel toward their own governments.
