SLOBODNI podcast #152 Richard Lindzen-CO2 is not the enemy of man

Lindzen, one of the world’s best-known atmospheric physicists, Professor Emeritus of Meteorology at MIT, former lead author for the IPCC, and long-time critic of the dominant climate-change narrative. This conversation is not about slogans, fear, or political labels. It is about physics. We discuss CO₂, climate sensitivity, water vapor, clouds, feedbacks, climate models, polar amplification, the IPCC, net-zero policies, and the growing gap between scientific uncertainty and political certainty. Professor Lindzen does not argue that CO₂ has no effect. His criticism is more precise: the climate system is far more complex than the simple public narrative suggests. The key dispute is not the basic greenhouse effect, but how strongly the climate system responds through feedbacks — especially clouds, water vapor, convection, and ocean-atmosphere dynamics. In the interview, we ask: What does CO₂ saturation actually mean? Do climate models overestimate warming? What role do clouds and water vapor play in climate sensitivity? Is polar amplification represented correctly in models? What parts of climate science are genuinely settled, and what remains uncertain? What would net-zero policies actually achieve in terms of temperature? And why has climate science become so deeply political? This is a serious, evidence-based conversation with a scientist who has spent his life studying the atmosphere — and who challenges the idea that complex climate systems can be reduced to simple political formulas. The purpose of this interview is not to tell people what to believe, but to ask whether the official climate narrative is complete enough to justify the enormous political, economic, and energy decisions being made in its name.
