“Show me the studies.” – Siri vs. CDC

Opis epizode

In this highlight, I delve into a topic that is emotional, polarizing – and therefore often reduced to slogans rather than documents: autism and vaccines. Siri describes a very specific move here: he says he asked the CDC to show which studies support the claim that vaccines (especially those given in the first 6 months of life) do not cause autism, and that this went through a formal FOIA mechanism, and then a court case. In his interpretation, the list he received was allegedly mostly unrelated to the vaccines he was targeting (he emphasizes the difference between early “infant” vaccines and, for example, MMR, which is given later). What is additionally interesting (and topical): in late 2025, the CDC changed the content of its page on autism and vaccines – a move that many experts and associations have publicly criticized as political and contrary to the current scientific consensus. Make no mistake: the broader scientific literature and public health assessments continue to be dominated by the conclusion that there is no evidence for a causal link between vaccines and autism – for example, the World Health Organization re-issued an assessment in December 2025 reaffirming that there is no link. So why am I publishing this excerpt? Because the point of the highlight is simple: instead of faith – documents. Instead of “sayings and figures” – what is on paper, what is on the page, and what can be verified. 👉 Watch the highlight, and the entire conversation provides a broader context.
