Autism in Real Life: Work, Identity, and Invisible Challenges with Dr. Klaus Lüben · Metautism #24

Opis epizode

We're speaking with Dr. Klaus Lüben — autism advocate who combines professional expertise with lived experience as an autistic person. He currently works as a software tester and is also active in disability policy and autism advocacy, with a strong focus on invisible disabilities, inclusion, and support for autistic people. In this conversation, we talk about Klaus’s personal journey, how he came to understand his diagnosis, and how that shaped both his life and his work. We also discuss autism in everyday life, the strengths it can bring in professional settings, the importance of communicating support needs at work, and why no single autistic experience can represent the whole spectrum. This episode also explores invisible disabilities, self-advocacy, and the need for greater understanding in workplaces and society. Because the conversation opened up so many important topics, this episode is part one of a two-part discussion. In the second part on April 2, we go deeper into systemic issues, peer community, and policy change affecting autistic people. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Don’t miss the next episode.
